Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries is an award-winning building which tells the story of the city and incorporates the worldโs first Carnegie Library.
There is so much to see and do including the library, museum, exhibition galleries, local history Reading Room, and childrenโs library. Thereโs a lovely cafรฉ too with amazing views over to Dunfermline Abbey and Abbot House.
Dunfermlineโs past is brought to life in the museum with fascinating stories retold through a series of special films, inspiring interviews, engaging computer games and our collections of art and objects.
The galleries show art from Fife Councilโs great art and museum collections, as well as exciting touring exhibitions.
Donโt miss the two larger-than-life statues that sit outside in the garden – the 19th century sculptures of two much-loved Robert Burnsโ characters โ Tam o’ Shanter and Souter Johnnie.
