Dunfermline Carnegie Library & Galleries is an award-winning building which tells the story of the city and incorporates the worldโ€™s first Carnegie Library.

There is so much to see and do including the library, museum, exhibition galleries, local history Reading Room, and childrenโ€™s library. Thereโ€™s a lovely cafรฉ too with amazing views over to Dunfermline Abbey and Abbot House.

Dunfermlineโ€™s past is brought to life in the museum with fascinating stories retold through a series of special films, inspiring interviews, engaging computer games and our collections of art and objects.

The galleries show art from Fife Councilโ€™s great art and museum collections, as well as exciting touring exhibitions.

Donโ€™t miss the two larger-than-life statues that sit outside in the garden – the 19th century sculptures of two much-loved Robert Burnsโ€™ characters โ€“ Tam o’ Shanter and Souter Johnnie.
